Nexus DSC & Nexus-II USB Serial Cable

Overview

The USB serial cable is used to connect a GoTo telescope/motor controller to a device running planetarium software such as Sky Safari. The Nexus DSC & Nexus-II is used as a “middle-man” to connect the telescope and the device (such as a PC, phone, or tablet) running the software. This is useful for when your telescope’s computer doesn’t have your specific target in its database or if you want to enhance your viewing experience to get more in-depth information on astronomical objects.

Three versions of the cable are intended to connect motor controllers to the Nexus DSC & Nexus-II:

• ServoCAT (for Nexus DSC only)
• SkyTracker (for Nexus DSC only)
• SiTech

The Nexus-II/Nexus DSC USB serial cable is available for various computerised telescopes – please select the model for your telescope:

• Celestron is used to connect to a NexStar Hand Controller only
• Meade Autostar is used to connect to an Autostar Hand Controller only
• Meade LX200 is used to connect to an LX200 mount
• SynScan is used to connect to a telescope equipped with the SynScan hand controller
