SkyWatcher StarGate 18″ & 20″ Encoder Kit

Overview

When purchasing digital setting circles for your telescope, you’ll also need to have encoders installed on your scope – without these, your DSC has no way of interfacing with your telescope. The encoders are attached to your telescope’s axes and send signals to your DSC, letting it determine the position of your telescope.

The SkyWatcher StarGate 18” and 20” Encoder Installation Kit is created specifically for SkyWatcher StarGate 18” and 20” Dobsonians.

PLEASE NOTE: This encoder kit is compatible only with non-GOTO StarGate telescopes sold outside the USA. The main difference is that compatible models have the “rocker box” riding on three teflon posts installed in the ground board. Incompatible models have a mix of metal and plastic balls between the ground board and the rocker box (acting like a ball bearing). Please contact us if in doubt.
